Summer Student Positions

Wausau Coated is looking to fill temporary summer positions to help provide vacation relief during the summer months.  Students must be 18 years or older to be considered. 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day.  Ideal candidates will be available to work through August 16, 2019.

Open Positions:

  • Quality Control Lab (8:00 am-4:00 pm)
    • Enter supplier Certificates of Analysis, file complaints and corrective actions, process Winder Samples as instructed, assist in release testing for outside warehouses, and other special projects as needed.
  • Press & Converting (7:00 am-3:00 pm/3:00 pm-1:00 am rotating)
    • Assist the Press and Converting departments with packaging finished material in boxes, labeling boxes, moving the completed packages to a skid, printing labels, checking finished material for any errors.
  • Maintenance Helper (7:00 am-3:00 pm)
    • Assist Maintenance department with interior and exterior cleaning, painting, and other special projects as necessary
  • Warehouse Helper (8:00 am-4:00 pm)
    • Assist with the packaging and shipping of outbound finished goods and LTL truck freight as directed by the shipping schedule and Transportation Manager. This position will receive and put away incoming truck shipments and assist in other areas of shipping and receiving as work load dictates.

 Qualifications:

  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures, Critical 9 Workplace Safety Rules and 3 Safety Obligations
  • Ability to read and interpret procedure documents and safety documents
  • Ability to keep records/use computer

IT Programmer/Analyst (WEB)

The IT Programmer / Analyst (WEB) will work with Senior IT Programmer / Analyst(s), users and management to design, develop, test and implement software to meet the ongoing needs of the Company. 

Full-time position, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm or as assigned by the IT Manager.  Overtime as business and project demands require. 

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems
  • Minimum of two years computer programming experience
  • Knowledge of n-tier system design concepts
  • Knowledge of distributed system design concepts
  • Experience with the following software development technologies:  JavaScript, Node.js, ReactJS, GraphQL, Apollo, Elasticsearch, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML/XSD/XSLT, Web Sockets
  • Experience with MySQL and Redis, MongoDB or CouchDB
  • Experience with GIT code repositories
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with Unit Testing
  • Experience with Microsoft.NET (C# and ASP.NET) is preferred, but not required

Inside Sales Representative

Inside Sales Representatives provide customer service functions and provides a direct link between our customers and our product solutions. Working with all Wausau Coated Products, Inc. departments, the Inside Sales Representative coordinates technical and product information, order details and follow-up on orders and trials from order placement through shipment.  The Inside Sales Representative is an advocate for their customers and serves as a liaison for the customer and the Outside Sales Representative.  The Inside Representative is responsible for delivering a high level of service to our customers by having extensive knowledge of the Company products and processes.

 Full-time position, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or as assigned by the Inside Sales Manager. Overtime as business demands require.

Qualifications:

  • 2-year Associate or 4-year Bachelor Degree is preferred
  • Customer Service or Sales experience is preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred 
  • Must have telephone etiquette and be tactful and diplomatic in dealing with customers
  • Must be neat, accurate, organized and dependable worker
  • Must have decision-making capabilities and be able to prioritize to meet multiple deadlines throughout the work day
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and be able to handle frequent interruptions

QC Lab Technician 

The QC Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring all products leaving the facility meet assigned specifications and are free of defects.

Full-time position, Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., or as assigned by the Quality Control Manager. May be asked to provide vacation coverage from 7:00 pm-7:00 am. Overtime as business demands require.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Work experience & Knowledge of PS and /or paper industry
  • Attention to Detail & Organizational Skills
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Computer experience, for finding run data in lab area & in the UPS/FED EX sample shipping area.
  • Lift up to 50#s
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.

Press and Converting Helper 

Under the direction of the machine operator, the Helper is responsible to keep the equipment supplied with raw materials in order to ensure equipment maintains non-stop production. The Helper is responsible to keep accurate inventories of raw materials brought to the equipment (cycle count) and test materials to ensure customer specifications are met.

Rotating shifts:

Week 1& 2- 7:00 am- 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday

Week 3- 3:00 pm- 1:00 am, Monday-Thursday

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience operating a powered industrial truck is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, manuals and schedules.
  • Ability to calculate basic math figures, such as addition, subtraction, division.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Average computer skills and ability to learn Company-specific systems.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Confidence and professionalism in representing the Company.

Coater Helper- non-rotating 12 hour shift (Day or Nights)

2nd and 3rd shift positions
