Director of Strategic Sourcing **NEW**

Synopsis: The Director of Strategic Sourcing creates and executes a purchasing and inventory management strategy consistent with company goals to ensure quality, product reliability, reduced waste, and improve productivity. This role establishes, develops, and maintains close relationships with suppliers and internal customers.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, exempt position; Monday – Friday, hours between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, or as assigned.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Sourcing:

  • Develop sourcing strategies and procurement practices that support company goals.
  • Support business growth, profitability enhancement and mitigation of risk through effective management of a supplier network.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts and commercial supply agreements.
  • Oversee and implement operational best practices.
  • Establish business relevant KPI’s to effectively manage supplier and operational performance.
  • Monitor and communicate supplier performance metrics.
  • Maintain, evaluate and communicate relevant supplier pricing, industry cost indices and drivers, and industry trends.
  • Implement cost savings goals and innovative negotiation strategies.
Materials Management:
  • Analyze market and delivery systems for material availability.
  • Monitor value and quality of materials and suppliers.
  • Address defective or unacceptable materials with suppliers.
  • Advise internal teams on raw material availability and specifications.
Inventory:
  • Establish procedures to control inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain vendor-supported inventory programs.
  • Ensure regular and accurate cycle counts.
  • Effectively manage aged inventory.
Organizational Leadership:
  • Manage and guide team members.
  • Monitor and assess employee performance.
  • Resolve team conflicts and facilitate training.
  • Set and track team goals.
  • Optimize team resources and budget.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
Skills:
  • Experience in sourcing programs, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
  • Market, cost, and supplier analysis.
  • Sourcing from overseas suppliers.
  • Risk mitigation and cost savings delivery.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset and effective leadership.
