Synopsis: The Process Engineer plays a key role in driving innovation and efficiency, leading projects that transform customer-focused processes and boost product quality. You'll be the go-to expert for identifying game-changing opportunities to reduce costs, cut lead times, slash inventory, and enhance quality—all while ensuring a safer, more dynamic work environment for everyone involved. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads safety activities and improvements.
- Develop improvements of processes and methods that enhance production efficiency, manufacturing personnel support, and product quality.
- Manage process changes in support of product development.
- Develop written standard operating procedures and work instructions for key manufacturing processes.
- Lean Six Sigma Green belt certified. Capable of leading Lean Six Sigma teams.
- Displays consistently good interpersonal skills and collaborates well interdepartmentally. Capacity to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
- Displays high quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Regularly seeks out process opportunities without assignment from leadership.
- Utilizes statistical methods to perform analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency. Highly proficient extracting and analyzing data.
- Capable of leading capital projects of intermediate complexity and require interdepartmental collaboration.
- Requires intermittent mentoring to ensure projects are completed on time and to expectation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3-10 years applicable experience in a coating or paper converting environment desired
- Software proficiency (MS-Office, AutoCAD, Minitab)
- Experience with Six Sigma and Lean concepts
- Proven project management experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good record of job performance, attendance and punctuality.
